Can I use my Lightroom or Photoshop exports in Postfolio?

Yes — export your finished JPEGs or PNGs from Lightroom as usual and drop them into Postfolio. It does not replace editing; it replaces the artboard and export part.

Why not just use Photoshop artboards for a carousel?

You can, and for a one-off custom layout it is fine. For regular series it is slow: sizes, guides, borders and one export per slide, plus manual alignment for panoramas. Postfolio does that part in about a minute.

Does Postfolio recompress my exports?

No. It exports PNG at 1080 × 1350 or 1080 × 1920, so the only compression applied is Instagram's own.
